Alliance AutoGas (AAG) has announced that its Blossman Services Inc. (BSI) division has obtained U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval for a bi-fuel propane autogas system for the Ford Transit vehicle.
According to David Finder, national energy programs manager of AAG, the certification applies to Prins’ bi-fuel VSI 2 system on the model-year 2015 Transit featuring Ford’s 3.7-liter V6 engine. BSI, the exclusive U.S. distributor and manufacturer of record of Prins autogas products, first announced last year that it was developing a conversion platform for the Transit.
“Our order queue has been off the charts even when the certification was pending,” notes Ed Hoffman, president of BSI. “The Ford Transit 3.7L bi-fuel autogas system conversion, by far and away, is Alliances’ largest and most popular platform yet. The number of conversion requests exponentially exceed all prior platform conversion requests we’ve ever seen.”

CNG Interstate of Oklahoma, LLC is pleased to announce that it has received full EPA Certification for the Prins Bi-Fuel “VSI-2.0 DI” CNG application for the GM 5.3 Liter EcoTec3 L83 Direct Injection engines for the 2014 and 2015 model years. The EPA certification applies to the Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, and Suburban, and the GMC Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL of the 2014 and 2015 model years offered with the GM 5.3 Liter EcoTec3 L83 Direct Injection engines.

Thirteen months after converting 29 vehicles from gasoline to propane autogas, Superior Water and Air reports its fleet has eliminated 62 tons of CO2 and saved an estimated $120,000 in fuel costs. The full-service company provides heating, air conditioning, plumbing and water treatment services to the Salt Lake City area. The company’s 74 fleet vehicles each travel about 20,000 miles per year and are frequently used to haul equipment on trailers.
“Our main motivation for switching to propane autogas was financial,” explains Mark Lambourne, president of Superior Water and Air. “We’ve seen substantial savings and estimate the company will see a return on investment 18 months after conversion.”
